Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Officers then found numerous other marked automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.
"There is still no lead as to its source; authorities are presently not aware of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
City officials said they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for details.
An important representative said the incident rendered him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he stated on social media, recalling the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
