Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging period, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-term trainer Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

It is his first trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after March of 2023.

Success also means Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one different events.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to win a championship is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the final five games to go ahead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

He defended 4 early-game chances in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after over two and a half hours.
